i’m looking through you

the mona lisa

i live on the second floor, and the window in my room faces west. . i spend a lot of time looking out the window. the sunsets are often dramatic; i’m higher up than the neighbours at the back, so i can see a lot of sky; the arrangement of garden walls, roofs, chimneys and washing lines i look down on is pleasingly odd, a slightly confused and confusing geometry. my room is at the back of the house, so below my window there’s not much traffic of any kind. i imagine i’ll take a lot of photographs out this window because so far, every time i look through it, i see something different.
